Thomas
Industries/APT
Thomas Industries/APT has grown to become the
largest auction firm in North America dedicated to the printing
& graphics industry. In 2011, Thomas Industries/APT
conducted over 23
plant
closure auctions of printing companies.
There
are over one hundred North American and international dealers along
with many tier one auction companies any of which are capable of
selling a plant or individual pieces of printing or graphics equipment
but there are none that we are aware of that have a full service
division dedicated exclusively to the Printing & Graphics
Industry.
Our Printing & Graphics Division has a staff of 19 that is
uniquely
experienced in owning, management, along with the brokerage of
companies as going concerns or the sale of component assets with
complete warehousing and rebuilding capabilities, or jobbing out the
residual books of business. One of the areas of expertise that is
unique and sets us apart from our competitors is the experience not
only on the selling side but on the ownership and management which
covers the acquisitions and running of over forty printing companies,
building them up to a $100,000,000.00 conglomerate that we subsequently
sold to World Color. We currently have built a second conglomerate
through ownership and management up to $150,000,000.00 million in
sales.
Additionally our in house personnel have trained
and worked for Harris, Heidelberg, Mitsubishi, Ryobi, and Komori along
with complete warehousing and rebuilding capability. Over 60%
of
our press sales are outside on North America to well established direct
relationships with printers in China, India, Africa and South
America.
As a result of the size and qualifications of
our staff along with the unique marketing experience from having
conducted over 500 printing plant auctions/liquidations, over a 1000
certified appraisals, reps in over 32 countries, nationwide and
overseas offices, we continue maintain the number one spot in the
industry as the largest reseller of Printing & Graphics
equipment
in North America operating on an international
basis.
Press Release (2005)
- Strategic
Alliance
In June 2005 the
companies joined forces to form one of, if not, the
nation’s largest full service, management, brokerage, appraisal,
auction, liquidation and consulting companies exclusively serving, on
an international basis, the Printing and Graphics Industry. The
respective strengths of each company provided all the right reasons for
joining forces.
Thomas Industries Inc. has been providing for over 60 years, worldwide
auction, liquidations, and appraisals services for the printing and
graphics industry through its offices/warehouses in California,
Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Shanghai.
Advanced Print Technologies is recognized as one of the premier used
equipment printing and graphic dealers in the country and brings to
this venture a very experienced, nationally recognized, senior
management team that in addition to its brokerage and internal
millwright capabilities has significant experience in both ownership
and management of printing companies.
Tom Gagliardi President of Thomas Industries indicated we have had
continuous requests for consulting, interim management, business and
intellectual property valuations, repossessions along with many of our
sales being subject to print quality testing or turkey installations.
These are areas that we have had to seek outside help. The additional
appraisers along with the overall skill level of the combined work
force will allow us to meet all Printing and Graphics requests in a
timely manner.
We have attended many auctions over the years and have always
considered Thomas Industries to be among the best. We are very excited
about joining forces not only for the talent and experience of their
personnel but also their strong relationships within the financial
industry. We now are capable at the highest level to provide full
service accommodations to OEMS, Processors and Financial Institutions.
Tony Andrade, President of Advanced Print Technologies.
